Standby UPS

This category of UPS is classified as basic power protection.  It is sometimes also referred to as "Offline UPS". 

It solves three out of nine power problems:

Power Sags

Power Surges

It essentially allows equipment to run off utility power until the UPS detects a problem, at which point it switches to battery power to protect against sags, surges or outages. It does not offer voltage regulation.
